Viente y ocho

Today is Dave's birthday. (It is also his dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Papa Phil!) I've always thought it was so neat that he shares a birthday with his dad. Dave talked to him this morning over the phone and then we headed to Mimi's Cafe for birthday breakfast with Mimsies and hubby. It was a nice morning. He's headed to a hockey game tonight with the boys. Mimsies and I will be having a girlie night of a chick flick and dinner. More to come on the 10 year reunion. Dave was a trooper! He deserves a medal for surviving the weekend!

Happy Birthday Dave! I love you!

Is it already time?

I've become that person. That person that says "I'm going to my 10 year high school reunion".

How is it that I've been out of high school for 10 years? How is it that I don't even remember who I WAS in high school? It's just all too weird. So much has happened in my life in the past 10 years. I went away to college, met the most amazing people I've ever met in my life, fell in love with a boy who grew up on the other side of the world, and got married. If I think back to my senior year of high school (Class of '96 rocks!) I would've never dreamed that in 10 years I would be living in Ohio working as a teacher. Isn't it funny?

We fly out on Friday morning. My parents will pick us up in Little Rock and we'll make the 2-1/2 hour drive to my precious little town. We'll be hitting the homecoming football game, taking a tour of the high school and working through mind numbing conversations with people we hardly know anymore. I'm weirded out by it all, but I'm also very curious...

I'll be sure to fill you in on all of the awkard details!

We Gonna Party Like It's Yo Birfday.

It's been an eventful weekend. Friday, September 29, was our 5th Anniversary.

We celebrated in style by hitting Belterra Casino Resort & Spa.

We spent the weekend eating amazing food, sleeping, watching movies and enjoying the sights. Dave even got me a special spa pedicure for our anniversary. It was de-light-ful! I spent 50 whole minutes getting my feet rubbed, scrubbed and wrapped. They finished it off when some red polish. My feet were as soft as a baby's bum by the time she was finished.

Today, October 1st, is my birthday. I woke up this morning and opened my birthday cards. Then Dave surprised me by giving me this! I wasn't expecting it at all! I'm so excited to get it all hooked up. (He's downstairs playing with it right now)

So, after leaving our little resort in the middle of nowhere,

we headed home for a nice, quiet afternoon. I decided I wanted to do my favorite things today, so I requested a walk with Dave and Lucy. After our walk, I ran to the grocery store to get the essentials: chocolate chips, sugar, vanilla...Baking is something else I love to do. While I waited on the cookies to bake, I gave myself a birthday treat:

Yumma-Yum:

The best part about my birthday? It's the beginning of fall! My favorite time of year!!
